The elections to the parliament of Great Britain are scheduled for tomorrow. Judging by the results of opinion polls conducted the day before, the Conservatives will win. But even if the Conservative party led by Prime Minister Theresa May will win a convincing victory tomorrow, economists do not have a common opinion as to whether this will be good for the pound or not.

Cable has been creeping up. Today the pair closed at 1.2970, highest since 25th May. It hard to say which way it will go tomorrow. May’s win should be bullish for GBP and higher prices pre-election suggest the market is confident in the outcome.
